IT’S LIQUID SERIES

SIN CONTROL

“It is part of my inner journey to transcend through styles and expressions to identify myself with original interpretations of existing expressions through my own experiences”.

IT’S LIQUID SERIES  SIN CONTROL

IT’S LIQUID SERIES – A free-flow acrylic technique – spontaneous, with control over composition and balance. It captures an impromptu moment when the flow of the paint takes one beyond, allowing the visualization of the possibilities of creation. At that very moment, one needs to move with the painting and then take control. It is like a game where one has to be fast, and things are forming before one’s very eyes, allowing the imagination to expand. It is like being tested, like a performance, not knowing if one can control the flow of paint. You continue in the anticipated direction to create a meaningful composition. Intense concentration is required so as not to lose control. It is a compelling and emotional experience, like being on the razor’s edge. – Paul Ygartua

The spontaneous and extraordinary freedom revealed in these works acknowledges a masterful artist demonstrating his continued search for originality, creativity and independence.

Ygartua never stops reinventing, never stops searching for new directions and he has many directions – experimenting with his varied subject matter and diverse techniques –  he is motivated to delve into his imagination through Surrealism, Cubism & Abstraction – exploring the possibilities of change using the unconscious as a source of inspiration and challenging conventional norms.

He is a master of colour which is central in his new series SIN CONTROL.  He is experimenting with different effects when using liquid acrylic – awarding him the freedom of experimentation on account of the speed one must work to control the paint in motion across the canvas. The end result is unique, each a work of art – it indulges the viewer – they become captivated, absorbed, transporting them to a dream-like fantasy world – THE YGARTUA WORLD.
