DR DRAW

A CANADIAN EXPERIMENTAL ELECTRIC VIOLINIST

BASED IN TORONTO

DRAW (VIOLINIST) ACRYLIC ON CANVAS  2017  YGARTUA COLLECTION

Dr. Draw evokes a timeless genre-bending sound brought by his violin that invigorates the creative spirit and brings grandeur to the mind. Coming from a classical music family with roots throughout Eastern Europe, Dr. Draw relinquished his formal training at the Royal Conservatory of Music and hit the streets as a busker, using his positive energy and love for the violin to please the public. He earned his moniker Dr. Draw, as he could uplift the spirits of the most down-trotted passersby. He voraciously channels his spirit as a conduit through his mind and body to capture the attention that transcends the spirit of the listener. Being an early pioneer of live violin in the electronic music rave scene, Dr. Draw has performed at large-scale parties moving people through music. He is the consummate choice for grand openings and international-scale product, store and event launches. He has worked with countless prestigious grand opening and launch events including high-end fashion boutiques, international art, music, fashion, tourism, sporting and philanthropic events including grand openings for the Shangri La, Louis Vuitton (global grand openings), F1 Grand Prix.

Dr. Draw has shared the stage with Usher, Jim Cuddy, Ron Sexsmith and the Barenaked Ladies and has opened for Drake, Mariah Carey, John Legend, Shaggy, Patti Labelle and 2Cellos. He has contributed to the score of BBC’s “Dead on I-95”, and music for the Canadian National Ballet’s school programs. He has recently been working with Audi for their E-Tron event series throughout Canada and is currently working on his 8th album “Strange Parade”, which is slated to be released in 2019 followed by an American, European and Asian Tour. He is also part of a duo “Nemesis”, aptly named after a theoretical dwarf star thought to be a companion to our sun, with Canadian BeatBoxing Champion Scott Jackson, of which he performed on Parliament Hill as part of the Canada 150 Celebrations. Dr. Draw is currently working on a documentary about his life and his struggles as an immigrant from Russia and his rise from a street performer to the international pioneer of genre-fusing music performing at Palaces.
