We create an outstanding museum from it and we always do everything in our power to showcase the right artwork to people in major cities. The idea here is to try and bring art close to people, regardless of its format. We believe that, by bringing more art to people, we make it easier for everyone to be in touch with art and enrich the everyday life of the traveling public by giving the very latest insights in contemporary art.

The pandemic has demonstrated the fragility of our world. It has laid bare risks we have ignored for decades: inadequate health systems; gaps in social protection; structural inequalities; environmental degradation; the climate crisis.

On Nelson Mandela International Day, 18 July, UN Secretary-General António Guterres delivered the 18th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture.

In his speech “Tackling the Inequality Pandemic: A New Social Contract for a New Era”, the Secretary-General took aim at the various layers of inequality that are being exposed and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pandemic is an unprecedented wake-up call. New Era Exhibition is a curated online exhibition that bring together artworks that belong to the new social life, the New Era.

Paul Ygartua

YGARTUA’S ECLECTIC UNIVERSAL MOSAIC OF IDEAS

“If an artist only has one mode of expression, then he only needs one style”

Paul Ygartua is a painter and muralist with bases in Canada, France, Spain and England. He has single handedly painted some of the largest public space murals in Canada and the United States. He is renowned world-wide for his Public Works of Art, his Monumental Murals commemorating historical events, speaking to ethnic pride and honouring local heroes.

Creation and interpretation is Paul’s life.  In painting he is at home in all mediums and prodigious.  His styles include Realism, Expressionism, Abstract Expressionism, Post Expressionism, Surrealism, Abstract Surrealism and Future Conceptualism, a Revolutionary Technique developed and created by Ygartua.

He was born in 1945 in Bebington, Cheshire (Liverpool) England. After graduating from The Faculty of Arts Industrial Design,Liverpool Art College in1965 he immigrated to  Vancouver, Canada. From then on painting became his sole existence.

Ygartua’s Eclectic Universe will give you an opportunity to immerse yourself in the eclectic and multifaceted world of artist Paul Ygartua–to learn about the different techniques and the various styles experienced by the artist throughout his work.  A visionary with an acute sensual perception and a facility to express these dramatic emotions with a spontaneity that brings life and emotion to the subject.  He is complex in this imagination and his expression is quite evident by the many styles and techniques that he has mastered over the last 40 years.

He has been represented by galleries and art platforms across the globe and the power of his achievement has been recognized by museums and collectors world-wide.

“My concept of painting is the journey of struggle and determination for perfection in every aspect of my work – from design and composition to colour and form. A journey that never ends.  Each style fits into a plan, like a road map to the future and sometimes the direction is not always forward, but like a continuous ebb and flow of juices which moves one, sometimes forward and sometimes backwards but always towards a positive direction.

I am always looking to improve on each work so as to fine tune my coordination between body, mind and spirit with emphasis on reaching the point whereby my hands almost are moving without consciously guiding them. Speed is an integral part of the process as it forces one to not dwell on exactitude rather it forces a continuous flow of inspiration and passion.”
